Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and enter information into the electronic medical record. You will support scheduling needs and help patients navigate the registration process both in person and by phone.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer knowledge including working with an electronic medical record and Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook) required; Excel preferred
• 2+ years of customer service, clerical, or business environment experience in healthcare

Responsibilities

• Greets, welcomes, and performs the registration process with patients in person or by phone.
• Collects co-pays and/or remaining balances and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs.
• Performs Epic and In-Basket responsibilities including reviewing and following up on in-basket work and appointment accuracy.
• Medical records support including scanning, distributing faxes, releasing information, and handling patient documents.
• Manages and cleans the patient care lobby and provides department support, including downtime checks and staff meeting participation.
