Job summary

UCHealth in Colorado is hiring Patient Access Specialists for ambulatory care across primary and specialty clinics in Metro Denver. These full-time, on-site roles focus on reception, registration and clerical duties to register patients for services and ensure smooth flow at the front desk.

You will verify insurance, handle pre-authorizations, collect copays and deductibles, and coordinate with clinicians and offices to confirm schedules.

Qualifications

• Front desk reception and patient registration experience preferred.
• Strong communication with patients, providers, and staff.
• Ability to verify insurance benefits and obtain authorization as needed.
• Ability to handle payments including co-pays and deductibles and document data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patient and/or caregiver to exchange information, explain visits, address questions.
• Coordinates with referring offices and departments to confirm schedules and exchange information.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as needed.
• Determines and collects required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, and documents in registration system.
• Works in a fast-paced onsite environment with minimal supervision.
