Qualifications

• High School or GED Diploma.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in acute care facility or related environment preferred, but not necessary.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in other areas. (Admitting, Business Office, ER)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, collecting and processing all incoming patient information to gather the necessary demographic requirements in accordance with regulations and hospital policies.
• Provide care for patients and procure reimbursement verification from third parties; maintain records appropriately.
• Willingness to float to other areas or departments if needed.
• Recognize signs of stroke and call stroke alert; verbalize stroke alert process.
• Complete ED patient registration and stay currency through annual training.
