Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a part-time Registrar to gather and enter patient demographic information into the hospital information system, verify benefits and obtain authorizations, and collect co-pays and deposits. The role requires registering patients accurately and complying with regulatory guidelines.

This position is on-site, third shift (11pm–7am), with total weekly hours of 16. Training includes a three-week dayshift orientation before switching to the schedule.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service in a professional setting preferred.
• Medical office or admittance experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtains copies of patient insurance cards and identification and enters demographic, financial, insurance and clinical information into computer system; verifies completeness and accuracy of all data.
• Obtains signatures on all required documents for consent, medical necessity, and on required State, Federal and regulatory documentation. Processes all necessary paperwork.
• Correctly identifies, collects and processes co-pays, deductibles and deposits from patients and may liaise with patient accounting, patient and insurance representative.
• Identifies and provides appropriate referrals and payment options to patients in need of financial assistance.
• Provides additional office support including telephones, scheduling, typing, filing, etc.
