Responsibilities

• Makes appointments according to protocol.
• Verifies appointments by calling to remind patient of appointment date, time, location and financial responsibility.
• Schedules patients according to Appointment Scheduling policy and updates referral source and chief complaint.
• Interview patients to collect demographic and insurance information and create/update patient record.
• Search registration system to verify if patient already has a record; avoid duplicates.
• Determine patient out-of-pocket expense and request payment per policy; log receipt and prepare daily deposit."
• Coordinate documents such as chart, charges sheet and care documentation sheets.
• Verify insurance coverage via ZirMed, third-party payer website, or phone.
• Provide forms and policies to patients; obtain signatures and witnesses' signatures for ROI and notices.
• Relay and document messages between providers and patients.
• Maintain integrity of patient data in registration and chart notes; track dismissals, reschedules, no-shows, and cancellations.
• Process referrals as needed.
• Handle patient paperwork.
• Handle correspondence and reports; mail duties.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; minimize fraud risk.
• Manage medical records duties including filing, releasing and requesting PHI."
• Demonstrate use of equipment and software such as fax, copier, phone system, McKesson HPP, Microsoft Outlook, ZirMed and third-party websites.
• Attend safety training and understand responsibilities related to general safety and patient safety goals.
