Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texarkana, TX is hiring a Patient Access Representative to facilitate welcoming access and establish encounters for all patients meeting hospital service guidelines.

The role requires accurate data entry, insurance verification, and accurate calculation of patient portions, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and insurers. The position is full-time with a 12-hour night shift (6PM–6AM).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
• 1–3 years of experience preferred
• None required

Responsibilities

• Input all required data elements for scheduling and registration, including demographics and financial information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Calculate and collect estimated patient portion based on benefits and prior balances.
• Perform financial assessment for appropriate program assistance.
• Obtain patient/legal guardian signatures on all necessary hospital documents.
• Represent the Patient Access department in a professional, courteous manner at ALL times.
• Assist the hospital in the event of an internal or external disaster.
• Support department to accommodate patient volume and shift changes.
• Complete required training and maintain standard processes.
• Maintain 5S principles to keep an efficient, clean workplace.
• Coordinate, communicate, and monitor workflow to manage fluctuating volumes.
• Provide feedback to identify educational and mediation needs.
