Description:

Patient Access Documentation Specialist

The Patient Access Documentation Specialist is responsible for the timely, accurate review, routing, and processing of incoming faxes received through centralized fax systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient access, continuity of care, and operational efficiency by appropriately categorizing faxed information, initiating workflows, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to resolve issues and prevent delays in care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare administrative, patient access, medical office, or call center environment.
  • Experience working with fax management systems, electronic health records, or document management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in ambulatory healthcare patient access, centralized scheduling, or referral management.
  • Familiarity with Epic or similar EHR systems.
