Job summary

Advocate Health in High Point, North Carolina is seeking a part-time patient access specialist to greet patients, register walk-ins, verify demographics and insurance, and help with financial clearance. You will work 8 hours per week, including every other weekend/holiday as needed.

You will collaborate with the Financial Counselor, follow Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and ensure accurate data entry, scheduling, and collection of patient responsibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access experience in scheduling/registration and financial clearance preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage flow to ensure timely, courteous service.
• Verify demographics and insurance information; complete registrations.
• Verify benefits, calculate and collect patient liability; request balances.
• Follow financial clearance policies when needed; refer to Financial Counselor.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and provide necessary documents at checkout.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and pre-certification rules.
• Communicate issues to management and meet productivity/accuracy targets.
