Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Clinic Clerk at our Hazard, KY facility to manage patient registration, discharge, and related clerical tasks. You will compile and enter medical information for records and support billing workflows in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, preferably with filing and business English coursework.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word and Excel).
• Ability to type at least 60 WPM accurately.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT/ICD-9 coding.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under stress.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and determines needs, providing appropriate assistance.
• Registers patients and prepares records, reports, and payor information.
• Interviews patients or guardians to determine payment arrangements.
• Assists self-pay patients with arranging balances due beyond deposits.
• Advices patients on insurance benefits and handles account inquiries.
• Receives payments, issues receipts, and maintains accurate funds handling.
