Job summary

Helio Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist (PAS) to act as the gatekeeper for billable programs. The role involves collecting insurance data, processing records, and entering data into our HIT system.

This full-time position is based in Utica, NY and offers a structured schedule (Sun-Thu) with a shift that includes weekends. The PAS will work with patients, payers, and agencies to determine benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and address questions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and third-party claim procedures.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Handle billing orientation paperwork and related duties.
• Collect co-pays, self-pays and issue cash receipts.
• Review Medicaid and third-party payment methods.
• Assist with Medicaid applications and gather required documents.
• Enter billing data and perform audits in the HIT system.
