Job summary

Helio Health, Inc. in Syracuse, NY seeks a Patient Access Specialist to collect data, process billing and navigate Medicaid and third-party payments. This full-time role supports Meadows CCBHC or West Onondaga Outpatient programs and uses the HIT system for data entry and audits.

The position offers pay from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with a sign-on incentive up to $1,500, and a comprehensive benefits package. Shifts include potential early morning to evening hours, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Degree /GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and Third-Party claim procedures.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience in Accounts Receivables.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all related paperwork and other duties associated with billing orientation.
• Collect co-pays, self-pays and produce cash receipts.
• Review methods of payment such as third-party and Medicaid.
• Assist patients with Medicaid applications and obtain required documents.
• Enter billing information in the HIT system and perform audits.
• Coordinate with payers and agencies to resolve claims.
• Prepare Medicaid billing reports weekly/monthly for revenue management.
• Direct patients to appropriate areas after check-in.
• Collect cash, checks, and credit card payments for patients.
