Qualifications

• Experience in an administrative healthcare position preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Detail oriented and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of insurance and billing functions a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy a plus

Responsibilities

• Register patients by collecting/verifying demographics, insurance data and physician information
• Achieve accurate and complete data entry of each patient
• Check insurance eligibility and calculate deductibles/coinsurances
• Collect and post co-pays, coinsurances and balances
• Schedule appointments and explain studies and preps to patients
• Answer phones, fax reports, request and release images, and contact physicians as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Print/scan documents and keep the work area clean
• Release images to patients when necessary
• Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring offices
• Regular attendance and punctuality
