Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.
This job is located in Galesburg, IL
M-F, 8-hour shifts, 1st/2nd shift float, starting from 5:30 am or 2:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor, and registration accuracy. They facilitate understanding of the services received, financial responsibilities, and expectations while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are required to create a positive first impression of OSF’s services to patients, families, and external contacts, whether over the phone or in person. A high level of deductive reasoning and logical skills are necessary to resolve issues in complex, multi-payer situations.
Required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: At least one year in an office clerical or customer service environment. Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, website navigation, problem-solving, conflict management, time management, and good communication skills. Must complete all role-specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Three years in an office clerical or customer service setting, with direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting. Skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, modifiers, and medical terminology.
