Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for the Admitting department. This full-time role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

with rotating weekends, interviewing patients to collect demographics and insurance information. You will input data, verify eligibility and benefits, coordinate with PBX and reception areas, and communicate with patients across all ages using medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Work closely with Admitting department, PBX operator and reception areas.
• Input and retrieve data on a computer.
• Communicate with patients using age-specific techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects within specified timeframes.
