Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of diversity issues, legislation, and best practices.
  • Assist with student applications, admissions, and acceptance processes.
  • Coordinate student orientation programs.
  • Assist with placement testing and admissions requirements.
  • Coordinate enrollment for Early College students.
  • Monitor student academic progress and perform regular check-ins.
  • Identify at-risk students and coordinate intervention plans.
  • Coordinate parent meetings and retention tracking.
  • Develop reports on student success and collaborate with school partners.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Coordinator of Early College & Pathways serves as the primary coordinator for Hinds Community College's Early College initiatives while also supporting student success within the Construction and Manufacturing Career Pathways.This position is responsible for coordinating student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, onboarding, academic progress, parent engagement, advising, and retention efforts. Additionally, this position serves as the student navigator for Construction and Manufacturing pathway students by providing individualized support throughout the student lifecycle.The Coordinator serves as the liaison among Hinds Community College, partnering school districts, students, parents, faculty, academic departments, and workforce partners to ensure students receive exceptional support from enrollment through completion.All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years of experience in education, student services, advising, enrollment management, workforce development, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree. Experience in higher education. Experience working with dual enrollment, early college, career and technical education, or student success initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure students are appropriately enrolled according to degree plans.

  • Conduct regular academic check-ins.
  • Identify at-risk students and coordinate intervention plans.
  • Monitor attendance and communicate concerns.
  • Coordinate parent meetings.
  • Track enrollment and retention.
  • Monitor GPA and academic standing.
  • Develop reports related to student success.
  • Collaborate with principals, counselors, and administrators.
  • Coordinate annual student scheduling.
  • Assist with scholarship and transfer information.
  • Coordinate employer engagement activities.
  • Assist with internship placement.
  • Maintain communication with business and industry partners.
  • Monitor credential completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
