Job summary

Hinds Community College seeks a PATH (Pathways to Advancement Through Hinds) Coordinator to guide special population dual-enrolled students with academic support, advising, and progress toward credentials. The role is campus-based within the Dual Enrollment department and reports to the Dean of Instruction.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and has experience in program coordination or academic services within education or workforce development settings.

• Collaborate with high school counselors, instructors, and administrators to align graduation requirements with college pathways.
• Serve as liaison to faculty teaching dual enrollment courses, assisting with roster management and reporting.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The PATH (Pathways to Advancement Through Hinds) Coordinator will serve as the navigator for the special population dual enrolled students on one of the College campuses that hosts the PATH program. This individual will ensure these students are academically supported, properly advised, and successfully completing their programs of study leading to credentials, certificates, or associate degrees.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree is required for the position of PATH Coordinator. Preferred areas of study include business administration, management, public administration, organizational leadership, education, or a closely related field. Coursework or academic emphasis in areas such as project management, communications, or higher education administration is highly desirable.

Applicants with a combination of relevant education and professional experience in program coordination, academic support services, or administrative operations within an educational or workforce development environment may also be considered. A master's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
