Overview
Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh Educational Outreach Center (EOC). The coordinator advances pathways to college for underserved and historically underrepresented pre-college students, works with youth to support student success, develops and implements youth programming, and supports the EOC Strategic Outreach Plan to increase stakeholder engagement and program visibility. Responsibilities include student advising, communications and social media support, data maintenance, workshop facilitation, and partnership cultivation to enhance student success.
Position Details
- Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience in educational outreach, college access, youth development, student services, advising, community engagement, or a related field.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience working with youth and families.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Salesforce, student information systems, or similar databases.
- Experience creating communications materials and managing social media content preferred.
- Ability to work independently with weekly check-ins and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Educational Outreach and Engagement: Devise and execute outreach initiatives aimed at attracting and engaging youth scholars in pathway programs.
- Stakeholder Communication & Partnership Development: Serve as a central point of contact for designated pathway programs, maintaining regular communication with students, families, school administrators, university partners, and community organizations. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with K-12 schools, community organizations, university departments, and external stakeholders.
- Program Implementation: Oversee the effective implementation of pathway programs including Investing Now Pittsburgh Admissions Collaboration, Pittsburgh Public Scholars, Resilient Scholars Network, and related initiatives. Facilitate workshops and events, provide student advising and resource navigation, and develop program materials.
- Student Advising and Support: Provide individualized college, career, and program advising and resource connections to students and families to support post-secondary planning and college readiness. Plan, facilitate, and support workshops, academic enrichment activities, family engagement events, college readiness programming, and special events.
- Program Efficacy: Support continuous improvement through assessment, feedback collection, documentation, outcome tracking, and program evaluation activities.
- Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate student records, advising notes, participation data, and assist with program reporting and outcome tracking.
- Communications and Social Media Support: Support development of newsletters, outreach materials, presentations, website content, flyers, e-blasts, and social media to increase stakeholder engagement and program visibility.
- Supervision: Train, supervise, and support student employees, tutors, mentors, and program assistants.
Physical/Work Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs.
