Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Pathology Technician to assist in the Histology/Gross Laboratory, helping prepare tissue samples for processing and analysis. You will support technologists and pathologists, handle equipment, and help maintain a clean, organized lab environment in a 40-hour weekly schedule.

The role includes assisting in embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissues, processing samples for diagnosis, and participating in onboarding new staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or other related field that includes chemistry coursework.
• One year previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance in the laboratories and prepare specimens for processing.
• Perform histology procedures including embedding, microtomy, and staining to prepare tissue slides for examination.
• Assist in collecting, preparing and processing specimens and ensure accuracy of laboratory data.
• May assist in reference lab work including packaging, mailing, tracking, and report filing.
• Train and onboard new employees as needed.
