Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Pathology Technician to provide technical support for Surgical Pathology, Histology, Autopsy, and Hazardous Materials Management. The role requires a HS diploma and some laboratory experience, with an Associate's degree preferred.

It is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week day shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm at DHMC and Clinics in New Hampshire. Responsibilities include specimen processing, autoclaving supplies, and assisting Microbiology staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS diploma or GED and some laboratory experience.
• Associate degree in science or licensed school of mortuary science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify specimens and label materials accurately.
• Prepare and autoclave instruments and materials for processing.
• Assist with frozen section preparation as requested.
• Maintain tissue processors, stainers and coverslippers.
• Handle hazardous waste per departmental policy.
• Perform gross dissections with supervision as needed.
• Prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation.
