Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Pathology Technician to join the Histology department at DHMC. The role supports Surgical Pathology, Histology, Autopsy, and Hazardous Materials Management, working with pathology residents and staff in a fast-paced lab environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with laboratory experience, and an associate degree in science or mortuary science is preferred. Day shift, full-time, with a $2500 sign-on/retention bonus for external applicants.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 2 years of applicable laboratory experience required.
• Associate’s degree in science or licensed school of mortuary science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies specimens and labels materials for processing.
• Provides materials for specimen preparation and assists with section preparation.
• Assists with autopsy-related tasks and hazardous materials management.
• Maintains equipment and supplies for surgical pathology and microbiology.
• Prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and ensures proper labeling throughout processing.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and prepares the autopsy suite for next cases.
• Ensures proper waste handling and regulatory compliance.
