Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of health care environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accession all tissue specimens and make cassettes.
• Assist pathologist and assistants in cutting room.
• Perform frozen sections where location allows.
• Assist on cytology procedures.
• Hang tissue on processors and prepare specimens for testing.
• Record daily case counts and maintain quality control logs.
• Operate equipment safely and dispose of hazardous waste per procedures.
• Review manuals and stay updated on procedural changes.
