AP/CP Board Certified Surgical Pathologist needed in Metro Northwest Ohio (1 hour to Detroit)

A leading independent pathology services and cancer diagnostics company is seeking an AP/CP Board Certified Surgical Pathologist to join our laboratory in Metro Northwest Ohio.

The position requires the ability to perform a broad spectrum of pathology including complex surgical cases, frozen sections, bone marrows and fine-needle aspirates, gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytopathology, and clinical laboratory duties.

The candidate must be willing to serve on hospital committees and actively participate in interdisciplinary conferences.

The candidate should have the ability to work independently, possess excellent communication skills, and interact effectively with clinicians, administrators, and laboratory staff.

Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree, be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and be eligible for unrestricted Ohio and Michigan licenses.

Fellowship training is preferred but not required. A minimum of three to five years of experience is preferred.

Additional Practice Information:

1. 12 pathologists (10 AP/CP, 2 CP)
2. 2017 surgical volume approximately 50,000 cases, with 75% outpatient and 25% inpatient cases
3. Outpatient settings include clinics, surgery centers, and local independent practices
4. Case mix is diverse, with a heavier emphasis on breast and gynecologic pathology
5. The practice has a very active breast care center, two active gynecologic oncologists, and an active cancer center
6. Tumor boards include Gyn, Breast, GI, GU, Thoracic, Neuro
7. Pathologists rotate and cover all hospitals for vacation coverage
8. Do not perform autopsies
9. On-call once every two months, covering the entire system
10. The hospital is an academic institution; pathologists have academic appointments and work with residents.
