Job summary

Pathlink is seeking a full-time Medical Director to supervise the Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. PA support on site to perform grossing laboratory front office support.

MD./D.O. with Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology; NM license required; leadership and communication skills essential. 2+ years as Laboratory Director preferred, with strategic thinking and hospital operations knowledge.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Active license to practice in New Mexico or eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Laboratory Director.
• Experience in hematopathology a plus.
• Experience with medical staff functions, hospital operations, quality improvement and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services.
• Participate in Tumor Board and on-call coverage.
• General Surgical Pathology practice.
• Interact with medical center physicians, hospital administration and laboratory staff.

Salary Range: $300,000.00 To $325,000.00 Annually

Practice Overview:

• General Surgical Pathology Practice
• Participation in Tumor Board and On-Call coverage
• No autopsies

Requirements:

• MD./D.O. with Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
• Ohio Medical License
• Experience in hematopathology a plus
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Laboratory Director
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Critical and strategic thinking
• Experience in medical staff functions, working knowledge of hospital operations, quality improvement and strategic planning
• The ability and desire to interact with medical center physicians, hospital administration and laboratory staff
