Job Summary

Summary-Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.

Essential Functions

• Accurately enters information from requisition (including patient name, unit number, requesting area, time sample drawn, physician's name, tubes received, tests requested, general comments) into computer.
• Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.
• Processes ADDs: locates sample, adds tests to original accession, completes ADDs form.
• Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.
• Handles special specimens (e.g. Sendouts).

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials: Experience Minimum two years of experience as a CLA I or II 2-3 years required.
