Mass General Brigham's North Shore Medical Center, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Support Technician to receive, label, and distribute clinical specimens to support testing accuracy.

The role requires attention to detail, LIS proficiency, inventory management, and strict safety adherence. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or high school diploma required.
• Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting is a plus (1–2 years).
• Able to follow procedures with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Receive, label, and distribute clinical specimens (blood, urine, tissue).
• Verify patient information and accession samples into the LIS.
• Monitor inventory of supplies, reagents, and equipment.
• Maintain lab area cleanliness and safety protocols.
• Follow safety and quality standards including PPE and disposal rules.
• Collaborate with staff and providers to ensure timely processing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by lab management.

Job Summary

Summary: Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens.

Essential Functions

• Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Process specimens by verifying patient information, accessioning samples into the laboratory information system, and preparing samples for testing.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
• Follow established procedures and protocols for specimen handling, storage, and disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards including use of personal protective equipment, proper disposal of hazardous materials, and adherence to laboratory accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree Related Field of Study preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

• Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred.
