Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore is seeking a Full Time Evening Shift Laboratory Technician to coordinate external transportation, receive and process specimens, and troubleshoot issues across the pathology lab network.

The role interfaces with physicians and nurses, monitors external lab services, and requires a hospital setting background. Weekend rotations are required with compensation aligned to experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience as Pathology Lab Tech II or equivalent with demonstrated skills.
• Six months MLT internship or equivalent experience in pathology labs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate external transportation, receive and process specimens, troubleshoot and track specimens referred from affiliates and external clients.
• Interface the needs of physicians, nurses, ward clerks and external health providers with lab services information.
• Monitor services provided by commercial reference laboratories.
• Troubleshoot external specimen problems within the Pathology Laboratory Division.
