Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Pathology Team Leader to coordinate specimen collection, order entry, processing, and related clerical functions in Pathology. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, supervisory capability, and experience in a clinical lab.

The successful candidate will oversee workload, direct staff across stations, and ensure timely turnaround times while maintaining a professional, patient-centered atmosphere for outpatients and internal staff.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a phlebotomist or processing technician with order entry experience
• ASCP PBT certification preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot and reconcile errors in phlebotomy, order entry and specimen processing
• Direct workload and workflow to ensure stat, timed and routine collections meet turnaround times
• Monitor orders to verify complete patient and physician information
• Communicate with physicians and nursing staff regarding problems
• Collect and review performance metrics for order entry lines
• Assist Manager to ensure courteous, respectful patient care by CR&P staff
