Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field preferred; HS diploma with healthcare exposure acceptable.
• 1–2 years in a laboratory or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of basic lab equipment and terminology.
• Attention to detail and accuracy; able to follow procedures exactly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; able to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Process specimens by verifying patient information, accessioning into the Laboratory Information System, and preparing for testing.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
• Follow established procedures for specimen handling, storage, and disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards including PPE use and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management.
