Job summary

Schweiger seeks a Full-Time Lab Aide at our CA Pathology office in San Jose - Los Gatos. The role supports the laboratory with intake of specimens and administrative duties; the lab aide does not perform technical duties.

Adherence to SOPs and a culture of compliance and safety is essential, with attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism. Six months of related experience and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with six months experience in a similar role.
• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills for lab support.

Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory specimens from courier.
• Review specimens for proper labeling and acceptability.
• Resolve labeling discrepancies according to SOP.
• Sort specimens for in-house processing or send to reference labs.
• Pre-accession and accession all specimens.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and document QC logs.
