Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Southeast Michigan seeks a Grossing Technician to join our Pathology team. You will perform accessioning, grossing, and dictation of surgical and cytology specimens, ensuring accuracy for diagnoses.

Role features day shift from 4am to 12pm on a rotating schedule, full-time employment, and a supportive team environment with opportunities for growth. The position requires a high school diploma with science coursework; Cytology Prep and Histology Processing

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 12 science credits preferred.
• Two years of college coursework in science (40-60 credits) preferred; AS/AScience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete gross description and dictation of simple surgical specimens.
• Pickup pathology specimens from hospital campus locations.
• Assist pathologists and pathologist assistants in designated procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in pathology and cytology prep and procedures.
• Operate and maintain required laboratory equipment.
• Assist with basic histology procedures.
