RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Pathology Assistant for the Lab TRMC Anatomic Pathology team in Elizabeth, NJ. You will perform gross examination, tissue preparation, and assist with autopsies under supervision to support diagnostic accuracy.

The role emphasizes documentation, specimen handling, and collaboration with pathologists and laboratory staff, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, pathology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Pathologist's Assistant through ASCP is required or preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience with surgical specimens and autopsies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
• Examine specimens and prepare tissue for diagnostic evaluation.
• Assist with autopsy procedures under supervision and specimen collection.
• Document gross findings and tissue descriptions in pathology systems.
• Maintain equipment and ensure lab safety and cleanliness.
