Job summary

ACHE is seeking an experienced administrative supervisor to oversee staff, manage budgets, and support a university hospital pathology department in Kentucky. The role includes coordinating daily activities for the medical director, ensuring SOP compliance, and handling credentialing documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business management/administration or related field is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or health care administration is preferred.
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative/secretarial experience in a medical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise administrative staff, hire, evaluate, schedule, train, and appraise performance.
  • Assist with operating and capital budget planning and variance analysis.
  • Compile and analyze complex data, generate reports, and resolve issues.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Draft and revise departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Plan the pathology medical director's daily activities.
  • Assist with faculty credentialing documentation and quarterly schedules.
  • Prepare quarterly anatomical pathology QA reports.
  • Take and transcribe meeting minutes, letters and reports.
  • Handle legal and risk management requests for pathology material, billing, and payments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
