The Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Part-time Pathologists’ Assistant to join its team.

As an active member of the surgical pathology team, the Pathologists’ Assistant will function as an active member of the anatomic pathology team and assist pathologists as necessary. Performs high complexity testing and is responsible for performing duties associated with the gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination for both surgical and autopsy pathology. Acts as a key contact person for pathologists, grossing and histology staff to identify problem areas and recommend changes to workflow. Assists with intraoperative consultations, including fresh specimen and triage research tissue collection. Participates in the instruction of residents, fellows, and/or students.

Salary & Work Hours

• Shift: Monday – Friday 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
• The hourly rate range for this position is $71.10 - $86.77.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
• Specialized/technical training Pathology
• Minimum Certifications: PA certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology, or must obtain certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year
• Minimum Skills: Completion of an accredited pathology assistant training program, or must graduate within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred Education: Master's degree Biology Or Master's degree Medical Technology Or Master's degree in related field(s)
• Preferred Experience: 3 years
• Preferred Skills: Three years of proven, documented experience in anatomical/surgical pathology.
