The Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Part-time Pathologists’ Assistant to join its team.
As an active member of the surgical pathology team, the Pathologists’ Assistant will function as an active member of the anatomic pathology team and assist pathologists as necessary. Performs high complexity testing and is responsible for performing duties associated with the gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination for both surgical and autopsy pathology. Acts as a key contact person for pathologists, grossing and histology staff to identify problem areas and recommend changes to workflow. Assists with intraoperative consultations, including fresh specimen and triage research tissue collection. Participates in the instruction of residents, fellows, and/or students.
