UA Health Services Foundation is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant to provide anatomic pathology services under the supervision of a pathologist. The role focuses on gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and supports the pathology team to enhance laboratory efficiency.

The position requires a BS in biological or allied health science, NAACLS Pathologists’ Assistant program completion, and two years of experience, plus current ASCP Certification.

Job Description

The Pathologists’ Assistant is a trained allied health professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. This position will interact with pathologists in the same manner that physician assistants carry out their duties under the direction of physicians in surgical and medical practice. The Pathologists' Assistant contributes to the overall efficiency of the laboratory or pathology practice in a cost-effective manner by performing a variety of tasks, consisting primarily of gross examination of surgical pathology specimens.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• BS in biological or allied health science, graduation from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program, and two (2) years’ experience.
• Current ASCP Certification.
