Pathologist Assistant - Exempt - Fort Worth, TX | Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-6:00PM

The pathologist assistant - exempt position is intended for individuals currently certified as a pathologist assistant. The individual will perform routine functions in surgical pathology, including some troubleshooting and quality issues. Responsibilities include conducting gross examinations of surgical specimens under supervision.

Pay Range: $88,700+ per year

Salary offers depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, market, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with daily operations of surgical pathology, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
2. Perform gross examination and dissection of specimens, including large, complex ones.
3. Provide training and guidance to staff and students; oversee orientation and competency assessments.
4. Prepare non-gynecological specimens, including FNA, staining, coverslipping.
5. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
6. Interact with pathologists regarding dissection activities and problem resolution.
7. Monitor workflow and participate in quality indicator development.
8. Follow procedures and continuing education requirements.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Preferred: 1 year surgical gross experience with complex specimens.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Certifications: AAPA Fellowship and/or PA (ASCP); current state licensure if applicable; meets CLIA standards; NAACLS-approved training.
