Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services seeks a Pathologists’ Assistant to join an existing pathology laboratory in Baton Rouge, LA. The PA will rotate between sites, perform gross dissections, and support histology processing under board-certified pathologists.

Ideal candidates are graduates of NAACLS/ASCP-accredited PA programs with PA(ASCP) eligibility and strong interpersonal skills. New graduates are encouraged to apply; relocation assistance is available in a private-practice environment with a broad case

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NAACLS/ASCP-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to sit for the board exam.
• Ability to work cooperatively within diverse clinical environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• New graduates or impending graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate gross dissection and description of surgical specimens across the full case spectrum—from routine biopsies to complex cancer resections.
• Specimen processing and submission for histologic processing and special studies.
• Rotate between primary grossing site and another hospital lab for broad clinical exposure.
• Collaborate with pathologists and technical staff to maintain quality and workflow.
• Contribute to lab workflow coordination and other duties as assigned.
