Albany Medical Center is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This role offers complex and diverse surgical pathology work, professional autonomy, and collaboration with pathologists and residents in an academic environment.

The PA will perform gross examination, sampling, intraoperative preparation, and documentation, while also teaching residents and contributing to lab practice and quality improvement initiatives.

Formación

• Perform gross examination, description, dissection and sampling of surgical pathology specimens.
• Evaluate tissue for intraoperative consultation and frozen section with pathologists.
• Document and photograph gross specimens with correct orientation and submission.

Responsabilidades

• Teach and mentor pathology residents and learners in gross examination and surgical pathology techniques.
• Work with pathologists, residents, histology staff and leadership to improve quality and workflow.
• Participate in quality improvement, procedure development, validation and departmental initiatives.
