Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a full-time AP/CP BC/BE pathologist to join seven anatomic pathologists and a dedicated clinical pathologist. Preference for fellowship in Cytopathology, GYN, or GI/liver pathology; strong general surgical pathology skills required.

The role includes biopsy and complex case review with frozen section responsibility, limited clinical laboratory duties, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• AP/CP pathology board-certified or board-eligible.
• Strong general surgical pathology skills.
• Preference for fellowship training in Cytopathology, GYN, or GI/Liver pathology.
• 3+ years independent sign-out experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sign-out surgical pathology cases and frozen sections.
• Limited clinical laboratory responsibilities.
• Assist in hematopathology workups with a small team.
• No travel required; maintain work-life balance.
