Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare in Alabama is seeking a Pathologist Assistant for a full-time locum assignment with hours 7:30 am to 3 pm, Mon–Fri; rare evening calls by phone.

Workload includes 20–30 cases daily with a general pathology mix (heavy GI biopsy and non-gyn cytology); peripheral smear reviews; FNA smears in radiology; touch preps for biopsy adequacy; pathologists gross in the afternoon; no PA on staff; travel and housing are prepaid; competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• 7:30 am - 3 pm, Mon - Fri; rare evening calls by phone
• 20 - 30 cases per day
• General pathology mix -- heavy GI biopsy and non-gyn cytology
• Peripheral smear reviews, blood bank questions included in workload
• FNA smears in radiology -- touch preps for biopsy adequacy
• Pathologists gross in the afternoon -- no PA on staff
• No autopsies -- most bone marrows sent out
• Assignment details and time entry in online portal
