Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Pathologist Assistant Department and sets guidelines to prioritize work production and quality of services.
• Develops and implements laboratory policies, procedures, manuals, continuing education programs and safety initiatives.
• Performs preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens as part of patient care.
• Recognizes when corrective action is needed and implements effective solutions.
• Works in a fast-paced laboratory with biological and chemical hazards; champions safety, compliance, and quality control.

In this role, you will:

• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pathologist Assistant Department and establishes guidelines to prioritize work production, evaluate effectiveness and improve the quality of services provided.
• Develops and implements laboratory policies, procedures, manuals, continuing education programs and safety initiatives to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.
• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• Master's degree; Completion of a Pathologist's Assistant Program accredited by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• ASCP Certification Required.
• 5 years of supervisory experience
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
