Pathologist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, grossly describing, and dissecting human surgical specimens; support frozen section evaluations by performing gross examinations, tissue selection, cryotomy, and staining; conduct human postmortem examinations, including specimen dissection and documentation; collaborate with Pathologists to ensure accurate specimen handling and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) within 1 year by ASCP; completion of a certified Pathology Assistant program; relevant work experience preferred.

Skills & Equipment

• Proficiency in gross dissection, specimen handling, and use of advanced pathology tools such as Mopec grossing stations and Vantage Specimen Verification System; strong attention to detail and safety standards.
