Job summary

Brown Pathology in the Houston area is seeking a full-time Pathologists' Assistant to join our Katy location. This daytime, Monday–Friday position offers in-person work in Katy, Texas, with responsibilities across gross descriptions, dissections, and frozen section services.

The successful candidate will have a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training, ASCP certification, and at least one year of experience with complex specimens; recent graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training program.
• ASCP certification required.
• At least one year of experience with highly complex specimens preferred; recent graduates will be considered.
• Experience with Dragon voice recognition software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross descriptions and complete dissections of simple and complex surgical specimens
• Provide frozen section services
• Assist with specialized procedures and projects as designated by the pathologists
• Perform tissue procurement for special studies
• Assist with conference preparation as needed
• Coordinate gross room workflows and personnel to promote efficiency
