Perkins Coie LLP in Portland, OR is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to support our patent prosecution team with legal operations, docketing, and document management. You will prepare and file US patent applications, coordinate with foreign associates, and help manage deadlines and records.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of patent prosecution experience, strong writing and communication skills, and experience with USPTO Patent Center and ePCT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of patent prosecution experience.
• Experience with USPTO Patent Center and ePCT.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledgeable in document management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, review, and file U.S. patent applications, international PCT applications, and related prosecution documents with USPTO, WIPO, and foreign jurisdictions.
• Coordinate domestic and foreign patent prosecution activities and monitor deadlines.
• Maintain patent dockets and records; liaise with attorneys, clients, foreign counsel, vendors, and internal teams.
• Review and report patent office correspondence.
• Communicate with clients regarding filings, deadlines, and maintenance matters.
• Support transitions during attorney departures and coordinate client matters as needed.
• Maintain legal databases (iManage, FIP) and participate in legal technology projects and process improvements.
