Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in San Francisco seeks an Intellectual Property Associate to join its IP team, focusing on patent prosecution and related litigations. You will draft and prosecute patent applications, develop IP portfolios for clients, mentor junior attorneys, and participate in post-grant proceedings and depositions.

The ideal candidate has a JD, USPTO admission, and 2–4 years of post-JD experience, with a strong technical background in EE/CS.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of post-JD experience in patent prosecution and IP litigation.
• Admission to practice before the USPTO.
• Licensed to practice law in the state/jurisdiction where the position is based and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Develop and manage strategic IP portfolios for clients.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior associates.
• Conduct pre-litigation diligence.
• Draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and prepare expert witnesses.
• Engage in post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes reviews.
• Take and defend depositions.
