LHH is partnering with a nationally recognized law firm in the Detroit Metro Area to find an Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal with 3+ years of experience. The role supports the local Intellectual Property Practice Group. The firm offers excellent benefits and a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, format, and file domestic patent and trademark applications and related prosecution documents (including Assignments, Declarations, Powers of Attorney, IDS’s, Responses to Office Actions, Issue Fee Transmittals, Terminal Disclaimers)
• Prepare USPTO forms, perform searches for foreign references and non-patent literature
• Coordinate patent and trademark filings outside the U.S.
• Review and process correspondence from outside counsel, foreign associates, USPTO, and WIPO
• Monitor prosecution of non-U.S. patent applications and identify prior art for U.S. applications
• Prepare prior art citations and information disclosure statements
• Track and maintain chain of title in U.S. Patents and Trademarks
• Prepare status reports for client portfolios
• Stay updated on IP rules and procedures
• Obtain necessary authentication documents and arrange translations

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of IP experience
• Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in prioritizing tasks
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Dependable and reliable
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability

Pay is commensurate with experience.
