Job summary

LJW Solutions in Chicago seeks a Patent Litigation Associate to join a sophisticated Intellectual Property litigation team handling complex disputes involving innovative technologies for major domestic and international clients.

You will take meaningful responsibility across the entire lifecycle of patent litigation, including pleadings, discovery, claim construction, expert work, and trial preparation, with strong training and long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience handling complex federal court litigation.
• Strong written advocacy and legal research skills.
• Discovery and deposition experience.
• Experience with claim construction is advantageous.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Technical or scientific knowledge is beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage substantial litigation workstreams.
• Illinois Bar admission or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Preparing pleadings and substantive motions.
• Conducting legal and factual investigations.
• Preparing for and taking depositions.
• Working with technical and damages experts.
• Preparing claim-construction briefing.
• Supporting Markman proceedings.
• Conducting legal research on patent and procedural issues.
• Preparing matters for trial.
• Working directly with clients and technical personnel.
• Coordinating with attorneys across related IP disciplines.
