Kim IP, a New Jersey-based intellectual property law firm, is seeking a patent attorney with a background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

We are looking for highly qualified and motivated candidates with excellent academic credentials, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior engineering experience is a plus.

Position: Patent Attorney

The attorney will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, managing IP portfolios, counseling clients, performing patentability and clearance opinions, with exposure to domestic and international prosecution, along with client contact and management. Qualified applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of technologies with a strong mechanical engineering background
• At least 3 years of law firm patent prosecution experience
• JD and NJ State Bar admission or ability to gain admission to NJ and USPTO Bar
• Engineering experience is a plus
• Litigation experience is a plus
