Job description

Patent Attorney (Mid-Senior Level)

Location: New Hampshire and/or Massachusetts (Hybrid)

Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 + potential incentive compensation

Practice Area: Intellectual Property

Level: Mid-Senior Level

An established law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Patent Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property practice. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of domestic and international patent matters while supporting a broad range of IP and commercial advisory work. The role provides significant client contact and encourages active participation in business development within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The successful candidate will be a licensed Patent Attorney with at least five years’ experience in patent prosecution and related intellectual property matters gained within a private practice environment. Experience advising on trademarks, software development and licensing agreements, trade secrets, copyrights, confidentiality agreements, and domain name disputes would be advantageous. Candidates with technical backgrounds in electrical, computer, or mechanical disciplines are preferred, although applicants without a technical degree who have an interest in supporting business and corporate clients will also be considered. A portable client following is highly desirable but not essential. Applicants should demonstrate strong commercial awareness, excellent time management, attention to detail, the ability to meet critical filing deadlines, and an enthusiasm for networking, marketing, and client development.

Applicants must hold excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school and be admitted to the New Hampshire and/or Massachusetts Bar, or be eligible to waive into either jurisdiction. Additional bar admissions are welcomed. The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, a supportive culture, professional development opportunities, and genuine prospects for long-term career growth.
