Confidential Employer., a Houston-based law firm, seeks a patent attorney to handle drafting, filing, and prosecution before the USPTO in a fully on-site role. You will work closely with engineers and business leaders on innovative technologies, providing strategic IP counsel and coordination with litigation teams.

The position requires a Texas Bar license, USPTO registration, and 3+ years in patent/IP; strong drafting, research, and client-relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar license and USPTO registration required.
• 3+ years of patent law or intellectual property experience.
• Strong patent drafting, prosecution, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written communication and client relationships.
• Engineering or hard science background preferred.
• Patent litigation or IP dispute experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare office action responses, amendments, and patentability opinions.
• Conduct patent infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
