Job Title: Patent Agent (Electrical Engineering)

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent with expertise in electrical engineering, specifically in patent prosecution within areas such as wireless technologies, AI, and image processing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and the ability to engage with inventors, researchers, and attorneys to evaluate technological inventions, assess patentability, draft applications, and respond to USPTO actions. This position offers a unique opportunity for professionals looking to make significant contributions to intellectual property law while working with cutting-edge technologies.

Duties:

  1. Collaborate with inventors, researchers, and attorneys to evaluate inventions and assess their patentability.
  2. Draft and prosecute patent applications with precision and clarity.
  3. Respond to USPTO actions, including office actions and appeals.
  4. Work across diverse technical fields, including 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, and processor systems.
  5. Manage client portfolios and develop strong client relationships.
  6. Provide strategic advice regarding patent protection and intellectual property management.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  2. Registered or eligible to register with the USPTO.
  3. Strong background in electrical engineering or a related field.
  4. Proven experience in technologies such as wireless communication (5G, Wi-Fi), AI, image processing, and memory systems.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications:

  • USPTO registration or eligibility to register.

Skills:

  • Expertise in patent prosecution and IP law.
  • Proficient in understanding and drafting patent applications in complex technical areas.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
